Tablets are great devices, but occasionally, they give us problems. Here are some common problems with Android tablets, and how you can fix them.

Tablet won’t turn on or power down

Occasionally, Android tablets will freeze, making it impossible to either turn them on or turn them off. This is frustrating, but has a simple fix. Holding your power key down for roughly 8 seconds should turn the device on or off. If this does not work, it may be due to a program on your tablet locking it. Wait about ten minutes, then try again.

Touchscreen won’t respond

Your tablet is controlled by your touch, so when it won’t respond to your fingers, it is impossible to use. Sometimes, this happens simply because your battery is too low. If this is the case, charge your tablet, then try again. If you still can’t get your tablet to respond to your touch, it may be damaged. In this case, bring it into Fix & Style Mobile Device Repair Center for tablet repair.

The screen is too dim

Android tablets have a light sensor, which adjusts the brightness of your screen according to the light where you are. If the screen is too dim, it may be because the sensor is being blocked, so ensure that it is not. You can also change the settings on your device so that it doesn’t do this.

Tablet won’t charge

If your tablet isn’t charging, it may be that the cable you are using is damaged. Try using a different cable. If that doesn’t work, try a different wall socket or USB port. If neither of those options work, the charging port of your tablet may be damaged. If this is the case, bring your tablet into Fix & Style, and we can repair your tablet.
