You use your iPhone every day, but you likely do not know everything that this powerful little mobile device can do. You may be surprised to find that there are many small tricks to optimize your experience with your iPhone that you don’t know. Over the next several blogs, we will go over some of these tricks.
Stop your music on a timer
If you are like a lot of people, you like to relax as you fall asleep by listening to music. However, this can be annoying if you have to wake up in the middle of the night to turn it off. This handy iPhone trick eliminates that problem by allowing you to put your music on a timer. Simply go to Clock, then select Timer, then When Timer Ends. Scroll down to Stop Playing. After that, set a timer for how long you would like your music to play, and press Start. Your music will automatically turn off when the timer goes off.
Disable message preview
If you are concerned about your privacy, you probably hate the preview of text messages that pops up on your lock screen. Fortunately, there is a simple fix for that. Go to Settings, Notifications, Messages, then Show Preview. Tap on it, then turn it off to prevent message previews.
See what is draining your battery
If you have noticed that your battery is draining more quickly than usual, you want to identify which app is giving you trouble. Luckily, you can access that information very simply. Go to Settings, General, Usage, and Battery Usage. There, you will see what apps are using all of your juice.
View every photo you and your friend have sent each other
When you are trying to look for a specific photo your friend sent you, there is no need to go scrolling through every text you have ever received from them. Simply open their message thread and select the Details button that appears in the top right corner.
Share your current location with someone
Have you ever been looking for a friend and wished you could just tell them exactly where you are? You can when you have an iPhone. Send your location via text by selecting Details in the top right corner of your message thread, then select Send My Location.
